BBT has pushed back the opening of the Brenner Base Tunnel from 2032 to 2034 and raised its estimated whole-life cost to €11.73 billion. A redesign of the railway systems will see much of the equipment moved into the exploratory tunnel, which is being converted into a service tunnel.
